What is Microblading?
Microblading is the manual skill of semi-permanent eyebrow drawing. The pigment is applied into the upper layers of the skin using a disposable microblade to create the desired fullness and shape of the eyebrows. Strokes are then drawn in the direction of the natural hairs' growth to achieve a hyper-realistic look. The pigment is specifically chosen to match natural hair color of eyebrows which may become lighter after healing creating a very natural effect.
What is Shading?
Eyebrow Shading is a semi-permanent makeup that gives a soft shaded brow pencil look. This technique creates a shadow or gradient appearance with teeny-tiny dots of pigment instead of fine hairs like microblading almost like using a brow powder. During this procedure, pigment is applied into the upper layers of skin using disposable needles and machine. Depending on skin type, shading procedure needs to be repeated once or several times.
Microblading and Shading (Combination of Both Techniques)?
It is a combination of both techniques. This style will create a makeup/powder look but with natural microbladed strokes. This combination might vary being shading on spine only which is a microbladed eyebrow and shading is placed on the spine of the brow, shading on the tail and lower line with strokes towards the middle of the brow giving a more intense look, and eyebrow shading + strokes in the front which is mostly shading and then microblading strokes are added only in the front. This semi-permanent procedure is done as already explained above using disposable tools.
Does Eyebrows Treatment hurt?
Most people explain that they feel only mild pressure or discomfort and less pain than a typical tattoo due to the use of an anesthetic cream. Of course, this will depend on your own personal tolerance for pain. Some level of pain or discomfort should be expected. IMPORTANT: Treatment is avoided during the menstrual cycle because of increased sensitivity to pain and extreme bleeding that may occur during the work.
What to expect after Eyebrows Treatment?
Slight swelling, thickness, and/or redness for one or two days following the procedure. It is normal to lose approximately 1/3 of the color during the healing process. After the initial procedure, the color may be a shade too dark; in six days it will appear to light after 10 days the color will show more. It will appear softer when completely healed because the color will come from dermal layer of the skin to the epidermal layer of the skin. Healing takes up to 45 days. In the second session more hairs or shade can be added and make them perfect. Results may vary depending on the skin type, proper aftercare, sun exposure, taking medicine, etc. In case a severe infection occurs, client must contact his/her physician/doctor immediately.
What is the best eyebrow treatment for me?
If you have oily skin type with or without large pores around the eyebrows area, shading or the combination of both techniques can be performed. Only if you have dry or normal skin type, you are able to chose any treatment up to your preference.
How many sessions do I need for eyebrows treatment?
Microblading, Shading and the Combination of both techniques are normally a two session treatment. People with oily skin type, people who are always exposed to the sun, and/or take medicines, etc., may need more than 2 sessions. Two sessions are included in the payment only.
How long does the treatment last?
This treatment is NOT a tattoo and will not last forever. Treatment will last from 12 to 18 months. Oily skin type, sun exposure, taking medicine, etc, may cause the treatment to fade faster and you may probably need a touch-up a before the estimated time.
How do I book an appointment? | What is your availability?
Go to Services on my site or click on my booking link below, and you will select the treatment you would like to be performed. Then, you will see my calendar with the availability. After choosing date and time, you will review your booking. Next, you will have to fill out a form and pay USD $60 or USD $70 initial deposit required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is paid the day of the treatment. Beautiful You By Kate's website is secured and SSL certified. Credit cards information are not filed. In case of paying the remaining balance with credit card, client must bring a personal debit/credit card to the studio to process the payment.

Where is Beautiful You By Kate located at?
My studio is located at 7590 Colbert Dr. Reno, NV, 89521. USA. It is inside A Cut Above salon where I own a private room. By appointments only. PLEASE, DO NOT SHOW UP WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT.
Do you do corrections or Touch-ups?
I DO NOT do touch-ups to a previous work that have not been done by me. You MUST send me pictures if you had a treatment done before. The eyebrows must be 95 % faded. I will consider design, shape, and color to decide if I can work on your eyebrows. Send me pictures of each eyebrow and one facing straight at the camera without makeup and without filter to 775-750-1781. Please, DO NOT send blurry pictures.
What color of pigment will suit best for me?
For Microblading, the pigment will match the natural hair color. For Shading, the artist will discuss with the client to pick the best color depending on the skin color.
If I have a medical condition, can I have my brows done?
It is very important to know that you are a good candidate for the treatment before booking. The Artist can cancel the session if client presents a medical condition the day of the session and a 50% of the treatment will be charged. Not all illnesses and/or medical conditions are mentioned in the site and we do not assume liability. If your medical condition is not mentioned in the site, please contact the Artist/Technician prior to book.
Do you do consultations?
It is important to know that Kate only works on virgin brows or 95% faded brows, this is, virgin skin looking only due to every artist works differently; design, pattern, skin depth in his/her technique, products, etc. Client cannot have a medical condition that can trigger a health threatening. The person to receive a treatment cannot be pregnant, or breast feeding for safety reasons. In my question above, a link is attached to confirm you are a good candidate for the treatment before booking.

If a person would like to get an in-person consult, the fee is USD $80 per 20-minutes consult. If the person decides to do a treatment with Kate, USD40 will go towards the payment. This consult is to answer additional questions only. You can always text 775-750-1781 or coordinate a call by text to get your questions answered by Kate AT NO COST.
